September 9, 2018 - Flawed. Cork was ok, just has gone bad

December 30, 2016 - Purple color with a violet rim. The nose is consistent with my previous bottle - plum skin, mineral, roasted meat, and black pepper. The palate is more structured than fruity with plum, pepper, and minerals. This wine is on the lighter end of medium-bodied with higher acidity and moderate tannins, but as mentioned in my previous note, the midpalate is lacking some depth. Overall, this is a well-priced wine that is honest, but the lack of midpalate keeps it from being rated higher. It paired well with spinach and artichoke pizza because the wine's peppery profile blended nicely with the food.

October 10, 2014 - Clear color, more similar to fresh pinot than the dark "normal" syrah.
Much smell! Meat, white pepper, black currant and other dark berries, but most of all crowberries! Delicious smell.
In the mouth, rich and slightly spice to pepper. Crowberries! Memories of homemade crowberry juice. Fine and mild tannins. Bodied and a nice overall and good length. Surprisingly good wine considering what I've read in advance.
    50+5+12+14+8=89p.

September 4, 2014 - Purple color with a violet rim. The nose reflects the structure of a cool growing season with plums, cherry, minerals, earth, and black pepper. The palate is more structured than fruity with plum, pepper, and minerals. This wine is on the lighter end of medium-bodied with higher acidity and youthful tannins. The finish has plummy fruit and an tannic edge that shortens the length. Overall, this is a wine that might seem slightly malnourished on the midpalate. Food is required to help this wine show it's best.

July 28, 2014 - fragrant nose. has northern rhone aspects. some pepper. juicy. the palate is a bit less than medium and that is where there is some mild disappointment, but the other elements plus a great nose still make this wine a winner.

June 16, 2014 - Opened and poured, this wine gave a good showing with some elements that detracted from the overall impression. This wine has been tasted on a few occasions and has been an inconsistent performer. On this occasion there are some disjointed elements on the bouquet and palate that keep this wine from giving a more compelling showing.

May 18, 2014 - I found this wine to represent a good effort. Nose of olives and pepper. Fruit and meat flavors. I enjoy the acidity but can see how others may find it tart. Just pair it with food and you will get much more enjoyment out of this wine.

April 29, 2014 - Not my favorite kind of syrah. Very light, thin, and high acid. Has Sonoma Pinot characteristics.
