February 3, 2019 - Red/blue fruited with cherry, blueberry and fruit leather notes. Creamy in the mouth and loaded with chocolate, spice and leather. Some herbs, bell pepper and loamy earth round out the palate. This was in a great place, and feels like it is in the sweet spot for drinking now.

Outperformed some of the more expensive wines in the Beau Vigne line up from 2011 in the cellar.

August 20, 2016 - Nose: Chocolate covered cherries, raspberry, cocoa, clove and sweet oak. Palate: Black cherry compote, macerated blackberry, blueberries and some spice notes. More chocolate in the mid-palate and a pop of acid to brighten things up a bit. Velvety feel, but a bit heavy on the oak. Finish: Showing sunburned fruit notes, more black cherry and some green notes through the oak.

Overall this gets an 89 "with one eyebrow raised" as a member of my tasting group occasionally says. Next day this was falling apart badly with stewed fruit notes and very clear green notes. If you have this in the cellar PNP or 1-hr decant is the way to go, and drink sooner rather than later. Two years is hopeful on the CT drinking window.

Pulled this to serve with summer corn, burgers, grilled onions and salad.

February 20, 2016 - Popped and Poured. This has improved over the last 2 years and is showing very well right now. Dark fruits and eucalyptus on the nose. Good fruit attack with blue and red fruit profile. Medium body with a very refined mouthfeel. Notes of chocolate, spice and leather. Medium length finish almost no tannin. Should hold up well for at least another 5 years. solid effort in a tough vintage.
