April 17, 2015 - Bright ruby. Cherries, plums, and cassis aromas, with pencil shavings, sweet oak, and a hint of plump, red fruit ripeness. Shows good depth, superb balance, and a creamy texture. The flavors spread out nicely culminating in a long finish.

November 16, 2014 - Lovely nose of ripe cherries wrapped in tobacco and herbs. Smooth and refined on the palate, but with sufficient tannin structure and acid to go another 4-5 years or more. I found this to be a beautiful, honest bottle of easy drinking Alexander Valley cabernet, and a very good value.

September 9, 2014 - There are others I think I like better for the price, but not bad for $36.00

    July 21, 2014 - 90-91.
fabulous cab in the $25-30 price range. not super tight on pop and pour but give it a little time and this is just textbook california cabernet.

black cherry, blackberry, oak, vanilla and currants on the nose. similar on palate but with more pencil shaving and cooling mineral notes. medium body with a slightly grippy finish but unfortunately no dusty tannin.

what i love about this cab is how characteristic, yet balanced it is for California. the dark fruit, oak, acid, and tannin are all in check. to the non wine drinker this will go down easy, but to a trained palate you'll see a well-made structure that comes off as effortless.

November 10, 2013 - Purple-ruby color. Smells of rich plums and currants, underlying notes of coffee, loam and cedar. The tannins are a bit rough and gritty, but I like it, and there’s some acid to smooth it out. The currant and plum fruit is juicy and bold, but restrained as well. Complex notes of tobacco, vanilla and spicy cedar. A bit young, but showing lots of potential. Very tasty stuff.
