April 26, 2015 - Great cough syrup!
April 9, 2015 - High alcohol. Shallow flavor. Hard acidity. Not good
May 30, 2014 - MEH
April 15, 2014 - Quite the QPR. Popped and poured, drank over 2 weeknights. Nice fruit. Nothing that serious, but tasty nonetheless.
March 3, 2014 - bright ruby color
dark plum, cherry, red berry nose comes strongly
jammy and fruity hint on the palate with sweet spices(like clove)
long finish than expactation with strong tannin and proper acidity
very drinkable wine at this price
February 8, 2014 - Smooth and dry
December 29, 2013 - Bright ruby in color, this wine revealed blackberry, dark cherry and a floral element on the nose. The mouth feel brought juicy acidity, more dark red fruits and some black pepper. The finish was medium with a nice integration of all the elemants.
It appears this red wine was not fermented in oak. I liked all the components but would have liked it that much more with barrel notes added to it.
However, at $8.99US, it's a steal. Drink up.
December 19, 2013 - In comparison to their 2012 Grenache offering, this 2012 Monastrell is head and shoulders above. This one is so bright and juicy, you can't wait to take another sip. The color is medium dark magenta. The nose is vibrant, explosive cheery, red raspberry and blueberry. Mouth coating rich red fruit that tastes sweet but is totally dry. Super little young tannins. Has enough structure to age for a while, or stand up to a steak.
September 16, 2013 - - Ruby color with slow forming legs and aromas of blackberry, fig and cedar. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of cherry and strawberry jam with a medium/full body. Linear texture with a medium finish.
September 2, 2013 - Strongly fruity in a cheap way, but then has some structure in there. Dark, dry, teeth stainer. Decent for the $$ but nothing to get too excited about.
