March 25, 2023 - Clear, medium ruby fading to a clear rim.

This wine is quite evolved and really quite disappointing.

Bouquet is heavily aged and dusty.

Tannins are just barely hanging on.

Palate shows lots of wood, tart cranberry and muddy fruit.

    Drink now.

March 24, 2023 - This experience was almost identical to the one in December 2021. A fine wine on its drinking plateau, but no rush to drink up.

Brought to a restaurant. Cork broke when the waiter opened it, but fortunately I had brought my Durand and was able to extract the remaining piece of cork easily. (You know you’re a wine geek when you bring your own corkscrew to a restaurant!). Tasted by both of us and decided not to decant.

Purchased on release, and stored properly.

    The usual LLC cool elegance.

March 5, 2023 - Needed about an hour of air. Then flavors of earth, leather and tobacco. Drink now or hold for 5 more years.

December 21, 2022 - Closed. So disappointing in the wake of a bottle consumed 12 months ago. I hope it has simply gone to sleep and will reawaken.

November 19, 2022 - My last bottle of this, the previous one having been drunk more than 5 years ago. I am glad I kept this back. It has quite a dark colour and a fragrant bouquet of cassis. The flavour on the palate mirrors this, and the wine has considerable depth and a rich texture. Long on the finish. I think this has now reached its plateau of maturity where it should remain for another decade or so. A very fine claret.
