November 20, 2021 - Went perfectly with some amazing huge lobsters from Bryant and Cooper in Manhasset on LI.

December 27, 2020 - Expressive nose displaying deeply toned red and black fruit, blackberry, black cherry, a hint of licorice, rose, black truffle, balsamico, dark spices, smoke, leather and mineral. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of rich black and red fruit, unctuous yet polished, bright acidity and strong limestone mineral, abundant tannins but nicely masked be rich fruit, and a long rich black fruit driven finish with licorice and rose at the end. Although it is enjoyable with ample fruit, it can easily improve for at least two more decades. Voerzio gets very little love but it may be wise to buy at the secondary market sub $130 in lieu of the top Barolo prices.

March 13, 2018 - This wine seems to be in a weird place, so I'm not scoring it. I enjoyed it over 2 days with lots of air. It started out closed down and then with hours of air it showed glimpses of greatness but would close down minutes later.

December 4, 2017 - A killer Barolo which was at its best after about 1 hour of decant time. Fabulous notes of fresh cut flowers, spice, along with a nice mix of red and dark fruits leading to a full palate with nice balanced tannin. I plan on enjoying my other bottles over the next year as I don't see the value in waiting longer than that.

April 16, 2016 - Perfumed notes of dried fruits, orange zest, crushed flowers, sweet red berries and some spices. It's medium+ bodied but dense with medium-high acidity and high tannin. I would give this some time but it's already surprisingly accessible (if you don't have a problem with high tannin). (92+)
