November 29, 2022 - This shows more 1996 than Leroy, ie, shrill acidity and unresolved redfruit vs wood spice vs green stems. In the palate thin and unbalanced tartness. The finish is long and structure in the backend leads me to believe this wine has the potential to improve in a decade +. There is also the potential for it to fall part, given how thin it feels in the frontal mouth. Acidity tends to protect wine for cellaring so I choose to believe this wine will show its potential in a decade's time. Whatever you do, DO NOT OPEN this now or just consign for sale. The label is impressive and shows you are a successful human but opening it will not impress you nor your drinking companion.

January 18, 2021 - Poor showing for this wine, which can be terrific. Strange start, slightly muted aromatically. Dark cherry, lightly bitter palate. (1220/1756)

May 10, 2019 - Greg. Color positively shines. Really stemmy. So pure and polished, this very clearly veers more Leroy than whatever the appellation. Sweet, incredibly intense palate. (997/1756)

August 19, 2018 - Gestern tranken wir den Corton-Renardes 1996 von Delarche, dieser Wein von Leroy ist sicher eine Klasse höher anzusiedeln. Keineswegs sind aber die Auktionspreise zu rechtfertigen.

July 28, 2018 - Pale ruby, floral nose showed up right away. Initially the wine seemed flabby and after 30 minutes it firmed up and became excellent. Another taster Kenk has a similar experience. Really fine drink, complex with a long finish. For my taste, the wine is fully mature.
