November 26, 2016 - I respectfully disagree that this is past its prime. Still tastes extremely vibrant and full-flavored, with a luscious smoked meat nose, rich dark berries, and muscular tannins. It was pretty good with a balsamic marinaded flank steak, stuffed and rolled with basil, prosciutto and provolone, but I'm finding it even better just sipping afterwards. It's really just a big, joyful wine.

September 25, 2016 - This paired perfectly with a vegetable chicken tortilla soup (Gubancs Restaurant, Portland recipe). There is enough fruit and tannin to age at least to 2018.

May 4, 2016 - A remarkably favorable improvement with aeration. Past its prime, though.
