March 21, 2020 - Enjoyed on its own. Slightly past prime, as the acidity is almost gone, but the softened cherry and strawberry fruit flavors make it almost more enjoyable than when I first tried it many years ago. I would certainly use this as a reason to cellar Walt's in the future (as some are so strong on the fruit).

April 28, 2018 - Cherry on nose, smooth & flavorful with a long finish. Bottle was opened 2 hours before tasting with wine group. Different than a normal Pinot Noir, but still an excellent bottle. You taste the fruit, but I agree that it is not "sweet".

July 4, 2017 - Lots of cherry on the palate. You get the sweetness others noticed but it was excellent and not a turn off as some others noted. It was an excellent bottle. One more left. Highly recommend drinking it soon.

September 13, 2016 - I like StageOne's comment about this being too candied. This wine was so sweet. It made me think of a child making their own snow cone at a company picnic that is allowed to put as much cherry syrup in there as he/she wants. For a wine comparison, it was not as over-cherried as Cherry Pie by Hundred Acre, but it was bad. I actually poured out the decanter as it did not get better after an hour. I want to say that I have had several Walts before and have never had this problem and they were really enjoyable. I have one more of these and am hoping for a different experience.

June 2, 2014 - Found this to be a bit paradoxical -- on the one hand you have very masculine features: a lot of tobacco on the nose, structure I might describe as muscular. But on the other hand, bright acidity and floral notes. Fruit wise, I get strawberry, cranberry. Makes for an interesting glass. Thanks to AustinTX1 for the bottle!

April 26, 2014 - Enjoyed at the Austin Food and Wine Festival. Had never heard of this winery until I sampled some of their wines at the 2014 GEMS Tour on Friday evening. Part of an impressive line-up. Smokey and earthy with a nice balance of red fruits and some earthiness.

March 30, 2014 - What a pleasant surprise to come across this winery. Familiar obvious with KH's wines. Need to find more from them. This had more black cherry than strawberry/cranberry notes one often finds from Anderson Valley. Also, it was a bigger wine, more reminiscent of RRV or further south in CA. Delicious. Would recommend.
