December 25, 2023 - I’ve had several bottles of this over the last couple years, and after a previous bottle this summer seemed a little tired, I moved my last two to the drink up section. I might not have needed to. Both of these bottles were solid, classic Bordeaux and showed beautifully about two hours after double decanting. Not show stoppers to be sure, but solid, respectable wine. These should continue to hold for at least five more years, and may have some further development in them, as they are presently straddling the primary/tertiary line.

November 23, 2023 - Had a bottle of this last year, and it was great. Almost exactly 1 yr later, I was completely underwhelmed. Decanted for 2.5 hrs, then checked in on the wine. The nose was muted and had a bitter finish. I thought it was corked, but didn’t smell TCA on the wine or cork.

The bitterness eventually went away, and the nose opened slightly, showing faint violets, green pepper, and tobacco, but was still muted. The palate had pretty weak structure, with little acidity and slight tannic finish. This was not a good experience. Based on the previous bottles I’ve had, this wine was either defective, or, potentially was stored poorly prior to my acquisition.

September 15, 2023 - A very pretty surprise. We actually shy away from second wines from avg vintages as we consider them a bit of an expensive scam on restaurant wine lists but we took a leap of faith with this and paid off. Well mannered, polished , round and fleshy. A lot better than expected for a 2012 , let along a second wine, and really presented it self well. Classic nose, good use of oak and well round . Pretty wine and a good 91

June 26, 2023 - Needs at least half an hour to open up.

Appearance: Dark ruby color with a mild amount of sediment

Nose: Medium intense aromas of dark cherry, cigar box, and peat with notes of vanilla

Palate: Full bodied, medium/medium(+) acid, chalky high tannins, and dry. Medium(-) flavors of red plum and chocolate with notes of tobacco. Medium balance, medium(-) complexity, and a medium-length chocolatey finish.

Has a nice nose but overall is pretty weak on fruit and complexity. Would pair well with a steak.

May 28, 2023 - Ready to drink! Slightly less fruit compared to the 09 but still very enjoyable. Not as plush but tannins are readily integratedv
