January 18, 2021 - Coravin fun - Lafon Rochet (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Toast, sweet spice, cedar all over plums and slight blackcurrant but the oak is quite dominant on the nose. medium plus intensity acidity, toasty, drying, grainy, chewy tannins, persistent, plummy fruit, cream, a little alcohol warmth. Okay.

November 23, 2020 - Aromas of blackcurrant, a little pyrazine, brambles, polished oak, sweet and Asian spices. Juicy, fleshy, generously fruited, balanced by soft tannins, approachable and rather lovely.

October 10, 2020 - From a half bottle. Good St-Estephe nose. Savoury dark fruit, with plenty of life. Moderate concentration and length. Very good.

June 3, 2020 - Château Lafon-Rochet 2012 - "The opaque purple-hued 2012 Lafon Rochet reveals plenty of incense, blueberry, black raspberry and spring flower notes intermixed with a hint of forest floor. Rich and medium to full-bodied, it is a complete wine from beginning to end. It may tighten up once it’s in bottle, but this wine has 15 or more years of cellaring potential. This superb effort is a major sleeper of the vintage. Made from a final blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, it boasts 13.5% natural alcohol and was made by Basile Tesseron, whose family owns this chateau as well as the well-known Pontet Canet. Like his uncle Alfred, Basile has moved to biodynamic farming." - Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate (4/24/2013, Issue 206), Rating: 90-92, Drink from: 2015-2023

May 28, 2020 - Still in lockdown and this enjoyable claret hasn't moved either since my March note! Excellent for the vintage.
    Till 2024.
