November 30, 2019 - Ideally we should decanted and we had this side by side with the also excellent 2009 ( Papies 92) which is a touch more ripe and less elegant at this stage .
Much like the 2009 it had a bit of a young modern Burgundian feel on this, ripe smoky fruit, dark fruited and then kick the herbs de Provence and soft spice. Round and very welcoming, fresher than the 2009, more cool climate feel, but also on the young side too. Very similar to the 2009 just a touch more elegant . 93

92+ pts

Je croyais à un beau Châteauneuf.

May 22, 2018 - I found this to be too big and unbalanced at this stage and it didn’t have any sense of harmony. My first bottle of this wine and I was surprised and disappointed. There certainly seemed to be potential for this as it has loads of fruit, spice, savory notes, and big ripe tannins but for my palate it probably needs another decade to be drinkable as it seemed angular and awkward

March 17, 2018 - Hige nose of oriental spices, patanegra ham, soy sauce, roasted bacon, ripe red cherries... Good fruit concentration, refreshing acidity, great wine!!

October 19, 2017 - Exactly what the evening called for, robust, rustic and just enough complexity to keep us on the edge of our seats. Dark red and black fruit, a bit of wooliness and some smoked meat.
