October 27, 2021 - Pizza Night with (Mostly) Italians: Respect the Pie (Candie's, Mpls): Very dark red plus color. PNP, drank a glass over 90 minutes. There's a building perfume of black fruits, violets, damp forest floor, tobacco, tar, and exotic spices. The perfume comes through on the palate too, full bodied, deep, blackberry, black raspberry, tar, earth and dusty tannins. Wish I'd picked up a couple now. 92+ to 93pts.

September 1, 2021 - Clear dark red. Earthy red fruit, dark chocolate and dried mushrooms. Dry earthy berry flavours and a long dry finish.

Needs another decade. Not as approachable as the 09 was.

June 19, 2021 - Superb Super Tuscan, a winery in Bolgheri adjacent to Ornellaia: a blend of Merlot (50), CS (30) and CF (20). Dried herbs, black fruit, plum, pencil shavings, tobacco, espresso, soft fig, chewy tannins, medium to full body, powerful with grace, love it!

February 16, 2021 - Heavy bottle, heavy wine. Impressive, dark, but should be better in a couple of years or so.

January 15, 2021 - Poured through a Venturi, deep dark ruby color. Aromas of dark fruit, spice, licorice. Full body, acidic, tannins are a bit harsh and overpowering. Blackberry, plum and licorice flavors. Very long finish, but tannins still dominated. Needs a few more years, luckily I have several bottles. Will hold them.
