June 27, 2019 - Luxuriant and seductive. I get why they call Bolgheri the Napa of California. This Merlot/Cab/Cab Franc is a singular expression of these Napa/Bordeaux varietals, with an Italian/Old World character all its own. All of the deep, dark fruit (and chocolate!), supported by a backbone of maritime minerality, aggressive tannins and a bone dry finish. This one still has many years on it... Now comes the part where I humblebrag and say, "Thank God I have another bottle."

April 9, 2019 - Big and bold, deep n’ complex, very tanninics, but smooth, chocolate-ish, loads of dark fruits, however, acidity dominates, lack of sweetness to balanace it out, otherwise, would have had a higher rating, long complex lingering after taste, a great wine for its price.

December 21, 2018 - O yes! this is a beautiful wine in every way. Each sip is like a little trip to Italy. The fruit is laced with iodine, with a strong tea-like quality that lingers for minutes. And if you want to know the definition of grip, you've got to taste this. Very elegant and velvet while leathery and earthy. A really great bottle. Highly recommend. BUT this is not a new world fruit bomb and if that's what brings joy to your palate this may be too tart and tight ... in a word, too "Italian" for your taste. As for me, the seductive come hither quality of this wine is what I crave.

September 26, 2018 - Really good, make sure you give it at least 2 hours of decanting. This has plenty of time left in it.

August 27, 2018 - Great potential here. Big, bold and pretty alcoholic at 15%. Too young to drink right now and I am sure it will soften out with some bottle ageing and become a little more nuanced. Four opf these left and won't touch another one for at least a couple of years.
