January 25, 2021 - Fading, austere. Hint of tannins remain. Fine for daily, drink soon.

August 14, 2020 - After more than 10 years, I finally returned to write a new tasting note! And more to come.

    Dark ruby.
First nose of succulent black fruits and licorice, also some black fruit creaminess.
Second nose opened up sweet cassis, incense, petrol, freshly cut wood, some floral notes, with meaty and espresso endnotes, typical Paulliac nose and balanced, expecting a one-dimensional but pleasant wine.
Dry palate, a backbone of ripe blackcurrant and plum, medium-bodied, with notes of graphite, menthol and flowers. Solid tannin but not smooth. One-dimensional and a bit hedonistic.
A short to medium plum and incense finish in Paulliac balanced style.

Not a very accomplished red, but showed some Paulliac character. Very simple wine.

85=80, this wine is 85 according to my old standard. But after this 10+ experience and also to give more extent to my future rating, I tuned this down to 80 for the standard from now on.

July 19, 2020 - Nicely structured, medium body, well balanced fruit and tannins. Some complexity, but not a subtle wine. Perhaps a bit pricey for what it delivers, but more than satisfactory as a more modest Pauillac.
