September 14, 2022 - This Descombes Brouilly is just about perfect. Colour is still plum red with no browning. A lovely complex mix of still primary, cherry gamay fruit with an overlay of Indian spices on both nose and palate. Medium bodied, soft acid, but great length. Just about perfect.

90-91 pts

September 19, 2013 - Light crimson color, transparent. Wonderful nose primarily of cherry, strawberry and some kirsch, with a little spice at back end. This is a tasty wine and just a wonderful Beaujolais

June 8, 2013 - The nose is spicy and mineral, with notes of cinnamon, ginger, salmiak and granite dust. It also offers totally charming aromas of red/black cherry, currant and raspberry, with hints of sweet kirsch. The taste is transparent, yet intense and focused, with dry juicy fruit, fresh acidity, firm mineral grip, outstanding tension, sustain and length. We had the three latest Lapierre vintages a few days ago - this is actually better than their '11 and equal at least to their '10. To our tastes, this is a virtually perfect cru beaujolais - and a stunning wine!

April 27, 2013 - Nose with cherries, red and dark berries, spice, some herbs, tar. Palate with red berries, juicy, some tannin, high acidity. Fresh and acid-dominated aftertaste. Accessible and fresh style. Excellent to drink now.

Darker notes and more powerful than the 2011 Morgon.

April 27, 2013 - Nice freshness on the nose. A little candied sweets but serious non the less. Some herbalness, cut paper and slight spiciness. Nice palate showing some structure and hints of fresh berries. Perfect wine for social occations. Lovely on its own.
