August 27, 2024 - Superb with long finish and great aromatics. Dark fruit, well structured and meaty flavors with subtle pepper and olive.

August 25, 2024 - Subtle aromas of dried red fruit, tobacco, damp soil, and spice.
Med+ body, med acid, med tannin.
This wine seems to be a bit muted at the moment. Perhaps it will open up with some air, but this one is hard to judge. Might be past it’s prime.
Update: with a couple hours open, a touch more classic Rhône notes emerge. It opens up more on the palate but is still a wine of subtle flavors and bold structure.

June 8, 2024 - Dense, dark purple. Intense and thrilling nose of leather, medicine, cigar tobacco, barbecue spice, and grilled black plums. Palate a touch hot, but offers sweet black plum and cinnamon-clove gum. Second day, out comes spicy red fruits. Perfect with zesty three-meat loaf. Has years to run.

November 19, 2023 - Pretty good vintage for Northern Rhone, slightly on the lighter side, so great for those who prefer the more Burgundian Syrahs.

Color is deep garnet, slight bricking, with a beautiful floral nose of potpourri, lavender, a bit of hay, and crushed gravel. Fruit notes are less powerful on the nose than expected, but quite lovely, with black currant, boysenberry, and cranberry.

The color and nose suggested this would be further along, but the palate is young. Lots of fruit: primarily plum, blueberry, and strawberry, giving way to baking spices and dried fruit (plum again), with almost no evidence of tertiary notes developing.

The nose outshines the palate here, especially for those looking for power, but it's a lovely wine. The structure is integrated now, but there's enough tannin that I think this probably has 4-6 years until peak and can go for at least a decade.

Overall less powerful than some others, with some room before peak, but nonetheless an ethereal floral nose and subtle but lovely palate, and especially recommended for those who like the lighter styles.

October 27, 2023 - Black-garnet, glycerol-rich, offering initial, reticent aromas of violets, boysenberry, blueberry, and olives that with time, unfurl as an elegant bouquet of floral fireworks. Lovely. More subdued and less complex on the palate which is predominantly a melange of dark fruits. More alcoholic on the finish than I prefer (more so than the prior bottle) but this wine still seems quite youthful. Perhaps it will benefit from additional downtime.
