October 11, 2019 - I thought I'd like it more as I have other Teroldego's from this producer. It was at it's best right on the pour. Once it spent more than a few minutes in the glass the forest floor and dustiness was primary and muted my enjoyment. Maybe that's what it's going for and I just don't have enough experience with the varietal to say it was faulty, but it wasn't to my taste. It showed a little better against some gorgonzola so maybe it's just finding the right robust dish for it.

January 28, 2019 - Just maybe starting to strut its stuff, but I would hold bottles another 2 or 3 years, if not 5 or more, to really see what's gonna happen. Dark, brooding and complex personality. Keeps changing: fig, blackberry, dark cherry, plum, pomegranate, pink vitamins, blue flowers, rosehips, delicate herbal notes, incense, licorice, soy, black olive, bit of sweet vanilla bean... super long and coating, seamless, full-bodied and velvety, but crazy fresh and wonderfully tart. Endlessly complex and engaging, if slightly inaccessible... what can be?

February 12, 2018 - Nose: dark cherry, wild berry, prune, ash, tobacco, earth, licorice, anise, violets
Taste: full bodied, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, cherry, blackberry, chokeberry, prune, smoke, earth, mineral, licorice, very long finish, huge structure, rich but balanced thanks to good acidity and chevy tannins, very fresh, complex and distinct, still a bit young (better after long aeration or on 2nd day) will improve with more time in bottle

October 27, 2017 - Dark fruit, manure, and dark cherries on the nose. Good acidity with gripping tannins and flavors of plum and dark fruit on the palate. Nice finish. Great wine, but could use a little longer to fully blossom. 93+

September 22, 2017 - A bit restrained nose, could do with a few more years. Distinct but very rounded tannins, fine balanced acidity, very fresh and clear blackberry and raspberry fruit, medium+ aftertaste. Maybe not the best vintage but it does show a lot of elegancy and drinking pleasure. Decant for 1 - 2 hours now or wait until later.
