March 21, 2020 - Last bottle and this is in a great zone. Plenty of rich red and black cherry with good spice and earth tones. Medium concentration with plenty of structure holding it together.
May 14, 2017 - Sweet wild strawberry and raspberry fruits. Touch of sous bois. Mineral notes. Soft, easy drinking palate. Nothing too chunky. Generously acidic. Plenty of fruit. Juicy.
July 16, 2015 - Still a bit young but effortlessly manages fruit/acidity/earth in a way that trumps higher priced Russian River Pinots and subsequently creates drama in tasting rooms to disbelieving couples wearing Rombauer and Kosta Brown t-shirts (re)spectively. Bright blackberry and brambly minerality on the palate. This will get better.
May 30, 2015 - Drank during Pinot Noir tasting.
September 25, 2014 - Tasting at LIOCO (Sonoma, CA): Nose has black cherry and prominent earth, underbrush tones. On the palate this is unyielding and tight, but the acidic core makes itself known. Needs time.
July 27, 2014 - Deep and cloudy in the glass. Appealing nose of bright, candied fruit. On the palate, this was simple, acidic, with an alcoholic bite through the finish. Hard to see this improving. Disappointing compared to the previous bottle. 13.8% abv
May 8, 2014 - Sweet cherry aroma dominates. Very smooth wine. Well balanced with just a small amount of heat in the middle. Goes great with ham.
February 25, 2014 - Definitely brighter than the Klindt when tasted side by side. Well made Pinot with light, delicate flavors, not overly extracted CA style.
February 13, 2014 - Bright, sweet cherry fruit, more open and herbal than the Klindt.
February 12, 2014 - Now here is a sexy, yet elegant Pinot with lots of deep spice notes but without over-doing it. Palate is suave with a very long finish. Lots of structure here too, will need some time in the cellar.
