December 15, 2020 - This wine will continue to get better with age. Right now it needs to be decanted for a couple hours, and once it is you really can appreciate its depth and brightness.

December 12, 2020 - Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.
From bottle setting upright 7 hrs; ≈2 hr decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then capped, then closed; Several SMALL chunks of sediment noted; Private Preserve after Day 1.
N: An almost brightly fragrant melding of creamy oak & cherries with hints of roses, & poss just a BIT of leather?
P: LM body; Nice, almost swtish frt met by an astringent PUCKER which SLOWLY works its way into & through a LONG, BALANCED, TANGY/swt (50:50) finish, the wine's acidity, rather than its resolved tannins, serving to firm/cleanse the palate. A stalwart complement to our COSTCO Ravioli(Spin/Ricotta)/Marinara & IT Sausages! In its window (at least for a bottle with < "ideal" storage), & as of Day 1 showing NO signs of tiring.
// Day 3: ≈ aromas, the cherries a bit > forward vis-a-vis the oak; P held ok, though showed > falloff than I might have imagined, thereby causing the acidity to stick out > on Day 1. While that MIGHT not have been an issue with Day 1's entrée, it *was* with tonight's Grilled Pk Chops, whether a difficult pairing or the wine not holding up I really can't say.
∑: 14.5% ABV, & should drink nicely through '24 if cellared properly; My EXC-/EXC (90-93/100 using that metric), though trending towards the higher end of that IF paired with something as compatible as Day 1's entrée. 😉3 people found this helpful Comment -

December 12, 2020 - Our 1st of 6 bottles after sleeping in our cellar for 4-1/2 years. This was a great time to check-in to see how these doing. We knew we would be in for a treat when, after 1-hour decant, the nose was showing lovely aromatics of brambly red fruit, leather, cedar and black pepper. The palate is light, but mouth coating, with balanced flavors of strawberries, hint of leather, black pepper and dusty dry tannins. The finish lingers. Went perfectly with our truffle pork liver patê appetizer and pork lentil soup dinner. Drank over the next 5 years.

December 6, 2020 - Stood up and decanted with some fine sediment in the last oz. Clear light ruby; medium-plus aromatics with red cherry, floral; palate is light bodied, medium-plus but very approachable tannins, high acidity, red fruited, medium-high alcohol (14.5%) but integrated well; finish is medium length. A well balanced barbaresco, enjoyable now and great as an everyday wine at this price point. 90

December 2, 2020 - Drinking very well now, a bit of petroleum on the nose, but Low acid and a nice Balance of tannin and chewy, earthy flavors
