July 3, 2021 - Not unpleasant but neither here nor there.

June 29, 2021 - Was introduced to this Chateau via the 2010 and this was similarly impressive. Drinking very well at the moment but 5+ years of life left.

April 11, 2018 - Klassischer, ausgeglichener Wein. Kein Wein der Extreme. Ausgeglichen, tolle, dunkle Frucht. Nach drei Wochen noch sehr schön. Von der Prowein.

April 7, 2016 - Medium bodied, fresh, early drinker with a spicy, smoky, earthy, red fruit character and a soft, ready to go finish. You can enjoy this young.

May 17, 2015 - The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.

The nose is slightly flawed (brett), showing medium(+) intensity aromas of ripe black fruit (dark cherries, dark plums, black currants), pungent spices (white pepper), oak (cedar, clove), hints of flowers (lavender) and hints o brett (leather).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) well-integrated acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of ripe black fruit (dark cherries, dark plums, black currants), pungent spices (white pepper), oak (cedar, clove), hints of flowers (lavender) and hints o brett (leather). The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and the remarkable fruit concentration forms part of a perfect balance along with the acidity, alcohol and tannins. On the other hand, despite showing complexity provided by oak ageing and spicy notes, the slight note of brett prevents it from being outstanding.

Can drink now, but it has enough acidic/tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop more complex tertiary aromas, and more bretty notes too, in the next 3-5 years.
