July 16, 2022 - Super wine. Still quite young. Flavourful and good length, colour very sharp indeed. Shame they trashed the brand later on by adding Heathcote fruit. This one recalls Seppelt greatness before they were bastardised by treasury wines.

October 17, 2021 - Has settled down especially on the second day after opening. A rich and spicy expression of shiraz that is made for a steak dish. Well worth the wait!

September 21, 2020 - The dark garnet rim suggests a wine much younger than ten years. The nose is laden with olives, spice and sweet corn. The palate is bigger than more recent wines I have enjoyed from the Great Western region. There is plenty of acid and for me too much tannic grip to put this wine in the class of Chalambar wines I have enjoyed since the 1960s. Prunes and stewed fruit are very evident on the palate. I doubt if this wine will achieve significantly appreciable balance with further ageing.

June 20, 2020 - Some garnet appearing at the rim, however the body is still holding as deep dark ruby.
A spiced smoky nose, with a little meatiness joining black plum, plus both black and green peppercorn.
Savoury, spicy and mineral with black fruits, notable acidity, and rather firm drying tannins.
Leaner and drier, with less body and obvious fruit than recent vintages.
On the flipside, it will reward further time in the cellar, with the structure here for extended maturation.

July 10, 2019 - Black ruby colour. Light aroma of spice, oak and shrubbery. Blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, spice. I aerated the first glass and the finish was so short I could hardly taste it. Straight from the bottle with no breathing it has some more strength. One of those rare wines which don’t decant well. I find this in Cabernet occasionally but rarely in Shiraz. A bit disappointed.
