September 13, 2019 - Bouquet of blueberry and boysenberry liqueurs, thick petaled flowers, potpourri, dark chocolate, exotic spice, and many other wondrous essences. Spectacularly balanced and structured, and built for the long haul. The challenge lies in keeping one's hands off bottles for two to three decades.

February 12, 2019 - Ports of this vintage feature unique balance, and wear their alcohol exceptionally well. This masterpiece please from the blue and black berry, dark chocolate ganache perfume through the long, powerful, and yet supple finish. I could not drink just one glass per night. Pure delight!

December 19, 2018 - Had intended to taste this over five days, but alas, it lasted only three. It is just that good! Deep blue (blueberry liqueur and crème de cassis) and purple (berry, flower) deliciousness on the first two days. Seamless and balanced, with unobtrusive alcohol.

The wine turned up the charm on the third day, featuring dark chocolate ganache, a gravel and coal suspension, hard bacon, essential oils, and, of course, that wonderful blue and purple deliciousness.

The bottle had thrown some sediment, but otherwise imparted a striking impression of youthfulness. Very like a 30+ year wine. Likely to improve. 96-97.

November 26, 2016 - Mostly port wines, with Andre Ribeirinho and friends in Lisbon (Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho in Lisbon, Portugal): Impressive indeed! Perfumed and streamlined, and with richness and a long finish. Somewhat closed in, but that is normal considering its youthful age.

January 4, 2016 - Haunting nose - wonderful fruit, oozes class; dense, silkily styled - builds in power on the palate. Quite incredible intensity. Massive structure. Tannic and youthful - a no brainer for long aging.
