April 10, 2024 - Unreal. I really have no idea how Dom achieves such high quality every year. This is stunningly fresh, tense, mineral and edgy. Across two hours it opens to white chocolate, citrus, so precise. This bottle was impressively fresh, drinking so young.

April 3, 2024 - Rather disappointing. A weaker showing of my favorite champagne brand. Not the first bottle of DP04 that was disappointing. Considering the age (not old yet!) the wine comes with too many oxidative notes. A problem with my delivery years ago? Three more bottles from the same delivery, after that six from a different delivery. Let’s hope those will be better.

March 22, 2024 - Delicate bouquet. Good oxidation w. rye bread and preserved yellow fruit. Rounded palate with retained acidity and gentle bubbles. Good depth and complexity, lots of autolysis, windfall apples. Very harmonious. Drink now.

March 7, 2024 - Served blind. Very pale. Reductive. Fresh, clean and bright. Crazily young but very good showing. My 2nd favourite after the cristal.

March 4, 2024 - Recently purchased from an online store. Bottle arrived in good shape, so far so good!

Opened at the sushi restaurant. First pour and it was still sleeping. This 20 yr old was like a grandpa arising from a deeeeeep slumber. 90 points. Meh. Not much other than bubbles.

After 30 minutes started to reveal itself and did a 2 step casanova. Good boy. Up to 92/93, secondary flavors emerging.

Last glass an hour later and Shamabala! Grandpa brought us to paradise )) Very very good man.

This is the Dom I love. Reminded me a bit of the 2012 creamy brioche hazelnut toasted almond delishousness. Looong finish.

This drank WAY better than the 08 Dom I had a few months ago. Also better than the 13.

I'd say this is very much at peak and probably won't get better.

Wish I had more of these but I suppose I know where to get em if I want em. I just wish I opened it a few hours in advance or decanted. I have a few 08, 12, and 13. Think I'll hit a few of the 12 as the others need more time.

Oh well, happy the last glass delivered.

February 28, 2024 - Gold, clearbright. No bubbles. So much toast, Warburton toast. Even a bit char. Long nose. Deep, and sinuous. Ripe plums. Some slate. Medium finish, more fuzzy, pruney notes.

February 21, 2024 - The 2004 Dom Perignon Champagne has really begun to come into its own. When I last opened a bottle in December 2020, it wasn't quite there yet, but now, it's starting to show some signs of maturity. In the glass, it has a golden-yellow color. The bubbles are fine, though not as lively as before, which is to be expected. On the nose, you get hints of freshly baked bread, walnuts, a mix of orange and tangerine citrus, a hint of the sea, green apples, and perhaps pear. It's a delightful aroma that only improves if you let it breathe for a couple of hours. On the palate, the flavors mirror the scents, with signs of a bit more evolution than what you get on the nose. It's got a good amount of acidity (med+), making it refreshing, with a lasting finish (long finish). It's a great wine that's in a good spot right now, and I think it'll only get better with a few more years. I plan to check back on it in three years.
