December 16, 2014 - Here is a white that is full of life and a charming personality. The nose and palate echoes flavors and scents of spicy pear, Drambuie liqueur, and a solid mineral infused back bone. Moderate acidity, but this is well structured by its balance. Not sweet, but certainly a rich texture. As the glass warmed, I noted a red cherry quality emerging on the palate almost like a Donnhoff Kirshhek Spatlese. I’ve seen one poster on this board condemning Alsace whites as ‘boring’ as they don’t go with weenies and kraut. Hmm, this wine boring? Not a chance, elegant, full of character, and well worth your hard earned $23.
