    February 28, 2016 - Unbalanced.

January 21, 2016 - The royal purple color foretells the royal treatment awaiting the tastebuds with this at or near peak rendition of a Cotes du Rhone. Smokey with a grilled blackberry intensity without at all being jammy. Flavors of tobo leaf and an element of iodine on the finish. Round and balanced. Quite a satisfying tipple at $16.00. Not a grain of sediment. 14.5% alc. With beef ribeyes. Recommended.

October 2, 2014 - Juicy red and dark fruits with spice and licorice accents. Solid CdR.

March 8, 2014 - This was delicious. Floral nose with ripe and round red grenache fruit. Moderate finish. Stellar weeknight wine.

January 31, 2014 - A deep, almost inky plum color. A decidedly different wine from the Edmunds St. John, what with its heavy tobo and smoked meat dominated nose backed up with a distinct gameness to it. No doubt about this; the nose says it all: Grenache dominates this wine with a hefty dose of Carignan. Checking on my creds, the material on line backs me up. The balance of the wine apparently comes from Syrah. Despite the gameness - or perhaps due to it - the wine drinks more like a Chateauneuf du Pape than a simple Cotes du Rhone. And while it is hugely different from the Edmunds St. John, it is its own wonderful self. Some very slight sediment. 14.5% alc. With cheeses (comté, bleu du basques and others), mole and crusty bread. With BB along to help celebrate a special day. Recommended.
