August 13, 2019 - blackberry, cherry, cranberry; well knit and composed; tannic support; opulent finish.

July 20, 2019 - I agree with other tasters that this is on the far side of its plateau. Red with a rusty rim. Red berries with some iron and blood in the nose. Soft yet still plump and rich. Tannins completely resolved. Still very good but not as good as four years ago. 4-12-17-8: 91/100.

April 12, 2019 - Great nose of violets and tobacco, with black and blue fruits. Black cherry and blackberry flavors, with copious tobacco and sous-bois. Somehow both plush and firm, gentle and energetic. Really, really lovely from the first whiff to the last drop.

March 9, 2019 - I am thinking this previously, decadent, sexy beast is on the other side of its prime time window. The color is lighter, the fruit has lost weight, the length and opulence is not as pronounced as it was in its prime. This is still a very good wine. It is sexy, silky and loaded with truffled plums and cocoa, but it is not the majestic experience it once was. Sort of like what happens to older wine lovers, we are good, just not quite at our peak any longer. If you are sitting on bottles, you need to start popping them over the next few years.

March 3, 2019 - Brick edge and a light ruby core.
Beautiful sweet aromas of tobacco, leather, red fruit, and a touch of earth. Very pure.
On the palate, this is absolutely wonderful. Fruit is at the forefront, totally clean bottle, acidity is low to medium with enough tannin to lightly grip the gums. It is silky, with a crazy long finish.
Wow this is good. It could go for mother 5 or so years I’d guess, before evolving further. Will it get better than it is now? Hard to say.
