September 16, 2020 - Deep ruby center. Violet, pine, and incense. Medium weight. Olive, herb, tart blackberry, moderate tannin. Better aromatically than in the mouth, similar in this respect to a bottle last year. Will last, but seemingly at a plateau. Not a great vintage of Gonon.

April 26, 2020 - This is a great vintage for Gonon and the wine, while still young, is totally integrated and absolutely delicious. The nose makes my heart flutter with incredible notes of purple fruit, violet spice and black pepper. What a beautiful round and silky mouthfeel this has with really juicy dark berry fruit and there is something so cool and calm about the way it sits in the glass and goes down the gullet. The finish is extraordinarily succulent and complex with notes of violet spice, black pepper and slate minerals. It’s still coiled and so could clearly become more complex with age but I just love it now. 94+

April 19, 2020 - A relatively disappointing bottle that I am assuming is due to the wine being in a shutdown phase. Violets and dark fruits with some earth, medium-full body, velvet texture, but somewhat monolithic. Cellared since original release.

April 6, 2020 - PnP. Cork wet about a third of the way up. Medium deep red. Classic syrah nose. Velvety texture but intense on the palate. Long finish. This is really good but not very complex (yet). Clearly has the fruit and acidity to age for another 5 years plus.
