April 25, 2023 - Pale garnet with developed, medium intensity aromas of grape jelly, black plum, black cherry, blueberry compote, clove, and cedar. It is dry, with high acid, medium minus and very rounded tannins, medium plus alcohol, and medium plus bodied with flavors of stewed plum, black cherry, cinnamon, bitter chocolate, cocoa nib, and menthol which linger for a long finish.
good; drink now not suitable for more aging
August 28, 2020 - Not really. What is this.
November 21, 2015 - Excellent! Some bricking. Still nice cherry fruit and food-friendly acidity. Bottles continued to improve with age but probably at peak. Sad this was the last one from the case.
October 11, 2015 - Still young right now, I think. I will give at least another 1-2 years before trying another. Right now, this needs at least 1 hour decant, preferably 2, to start opening up. When it does, it is a light style but I get the classic tarry undertones and floral notes. Seems classic but not a powerhouse. It was very good with Italian fare. Could possibly improve in score with age.
September 22, 2015 - Okay, but not impressed for the money. Would not buy again.
September 10, 2015 - Smells and tastes like the feminine side of Nebbiolo, but it is dilute and lacks any grip or structure. Gets tiresome to drink very quickly, which for me is really unusual. This is the kind of wine Rimmerman usually hits for me, but this is a big miss. I've had two bottles now, several months apart and didn't like either.
August 15, 2015 - Tannic, could age well another 5-10 years
March 4, 2015 - Like the comments of others of the CTC on this wine, I give it a strong 91 pts. As others said, great QPR. A true example of the nebbiolo grape at an affordable price. Coincidentally, I read Asimov's essay about this wine in today's NY Times and I even picked up the "tar" notes. Read the essay:

February 16, 2015 - The color is light red, somewhat like a Pinot Noir but a little more brick color. The nose is just like a fine Barolo - amazing floral rose notes with some vegatal undertones. Initial palate is completely different from an aged Barolo, but in a good youthful and lively way. Very little tannins, but some good acitdity. It starts to bring in some fresh red fruit flavors along with the floral notes. Finishes quickly, but this is a great wine and perfectly represents what you expect from the grape and style.
February 12, 2015 - A great QPR. Brick red color; nose of cherry and a hint of spice. Dark cherry, some red fruit, and floral notes. Nicely balanced; long finish; has some more life and could go a few years.
