February 17, 2019 - Nose: Lots of underbrush and moss aromas like the last bottle (notes on 5/6/17) with hints of cassis and beets. Very cool nose. Palate: Soft and well integrated with still present tannins, cherries and some strawberry. Elegant medium length finish. Last bottle had all the elements siloed but this bottle is much better in integration. Alc is only 13.7% which is quite low by Cali standards. Still has plenty of life so my last bottle will sit 1-2 more years. Now 92 points.

February 8, 2019 - Prior bottle was just over 11 months ago and this wine remains in a good spot. Red cherry, earth and floral notes on the nose. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront which retains the mid-body depth of the prior bottle, but has lost some of the raspberry and darker notes. Tart red cherry and cranberry on the backside provide good contrast, while the finish shows mineral notes, integrated spices and lingering acidity. Overall, I would say the fruit continues to show well, but has lost a touch of its prior complexity. It retains good balance and a nice mix of more rounded fruit notes with more tart fruit notes. But I would agree with other recent reviews that while this wine should continue to show well over the next few year, I don't see it improving and I would drink it over the next 12-18 months to get the most out of it.

February 3, 2019 - A little lacking on the fruit front. Went well with pan grilled salmon no a green salad. I liked the bottle I drank 14 months ago a lot better. Will drink my last bottle soon.

August 23, 2018 - Even now, this wine just didn't do it for me. There was not enough lingering flavor in my mouth after I swallowed a sip. It has some nice fruit, but I don't think this one will improve much anymore.

(Lutum Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard) Barrel sample - very dark ruby color; appealing, tart berry, tart cherry, pepper nose; tight, tart cherry, tart pepper, mineral palate with a sense of dried herbs; will need 3-plus years; medium-plus finish 92-93 points
