November 16, 2017 - this is not IPOB approved. Big wine even at this age. after about an hour, it mellowed out on the palate, but stilled seemed a bit hot on the nose. I wouldn't hold too much longer

December 20, 2012 - Solid cherry color. Terrific nose of black cherry, dusty spice, and stony earth notes. In the mouth, linear and bursting with fruit, along with deep earthiness. Long finish. Really impressive. Not showing heat or the port-like nature of a lot of wines from this super hot vintage. A-

January 8, 2012 - I like this wine as it still shows fruit and complexity but hides the alcohol and absorbs the oak well. Still, it seems to be at its peak and I would not age these much longer. Getting sea and earth nose, with ripe fruit and classic root beer like flavors with earth, integrated oak and pine.
