February 10, 2024 - This wine has been in the zone for the best part of a decade and this bottle was humming. Complex aromatics of white mushroom, truffle, preserved lemon and spice. It is quite elegant and silky, but has real focus and detail. Each sip reveals another subtle nuance, and the finish is precise and persistent.
March 31, 2023 - This bottle was not oxidized but was also past its prime. Color is good.
Jasmine and vanilla and mushroom nose, a bit of honey. The palate is earthy, not showing much fruit, acid also faded, some fraying structure on the back end. Bottle by bottle at this point.
March 26, 2021 - I have been fortunate enough to have had this wine many times over the years. It is now taking on some gentle exoticism to the nose (think mango and chamomile tea). It has white mushroom development and a palate that is rich, layered and detailed. It has the most wonderful acidity and is so fresh and long.
September 1, 2019 - Stunning bottle that was almost tight upon opening. Lots of minerality and a long finish. Wish I had more and still has plenty of years to go. Color and fill were both excellent.
February 28, 2018 - This is a fantastic bottle of wine. It is fine yet complex and powerful. There are notes of rockmelon, white peach, aniseed and toast. It is full and rich with a suggestion of honey and truffle just sneaking into the flavour profile. It has greet posture and the finish oozes minerality.
June 24, 2017 - Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass, brief note. Still nicely fresh but also slightly simple. From the same source as a much better bottle opened one year ago.
June 12, 2017 - I have had better bottles of this and if it was 5 years old you’d scream premox. The nose had bruised apples and a bit of butterscotch. The palate still had good acid line but flavours were blunt.

April 1, 2017 - A magnificent bottle. Complex, linear, detailed and engaging. It has pure white peach and citrus fruit. There’s a hint of toast and white mushroom development. It has a rigid mineral spine and terrific drive right through the palate. It finishes with mouthwatering acidity and length is superb.
March 22, 2017 - Don't have notes. Just remember this was a great bottle. Super clean and balanced now but also seemed like it could keep aging for another 30 years.
