August 27, 2019 - Slightly past peak with a certain softness. Elegant, with plums and blueberry. Opens in the first 30 minutes.

May 24, 2019 - Drinking nicely here. Decanted and drank over two hours. Shows nicely. Fairly mature. I don’t think age will benefit the wine. Acidity seems dull but fruit and tannins are supple. Cooperage is evident however but that’s keeping with the style.

April 24, 2019 - Spent an hour in a decanter, the nose and palate ended up matching my expectations, a well made cab that is not extracted or over oaked in any way. Age has treated this well, integrating tannins into a very fine grained drinking experience with a lush but not over the top mouthfeel with blackerry and chocolate notes standing out.

March 22, 2019 - Pnp. Elegant nose with eucalyptos, grilled paprika, green pepper, rum raisins and dried cherries.

Heavy, slightly soft with a powerful and dark heart. Lacking fruit and feels a bit dry. Some bacon fat and fine integrated minerals. Unfortunately not convinced on this price range. Two bottles left.

(La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain) Very dark purple red violet color; sugar topped berries, ripe blackberry, mulberry, berry syrup nose; rich, concentrated, ripe berry, blackberry, berry syrup palate with very sweet tannins; showing well now but could use 2 years; medium-plus finish (81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot) 92+ points
