September 5, 2017 - Drank alongside the 92. The acidity was so much more prominent on the 89. Plenty of minerality and crisp fruit. This bottle can go another decade easily.

April 29, 2017 - 11th of 12, opened 15 minutes but not decanted, perfect cork and level, previous notes since 1999 mostly fine or better - still pale, youthful, leggy; attractive bouquet, hint of honeysuckle, strong lemon overtone with hint of stone, pure and fresh; medium, very long, persistent and concentrated, took some time to reveal complexity and tame the acid edge, remarkably youthful. VF (18.5)......needed an hour in the decanter and interesting how it has shed its lanolin puppy fat of a decade ago....the equally fine '90 currently has the edge! PS not a trace of POX!

February 9, 2017 - Gift from DD. fclarity note below describes this wine quite well. Complex nose and flavors, a wonderful mouthfeel and a fine, lingering finish.

January 14, 2017 - I am not sure if the last bottle I had was a touch off or it did not get enough air. However, this excellent looking bottle tasted like a 92 point wine when first poured and got better from there.

This wine had a yellow center and clear rims. It looked quite young as Bonneau often does. This producer creates wines with incredible longevity. After 5+ hours of air the medium+ intensity nose showed apples, white stone, almond paste, and lemons.

In the mouth, this was refined (not fat) but had a huge flavor impact. The powdered mineral/marzipan finish lingered in your mouth for over a minute. This wine was quite crisp and clearly designed for food. It also had incredible balance that left you searching for which flavor element to list first.

This bottle was really just coming into its drinking window. It will easily last, and even improve, in the cellar for 10+ years. Outstanding!

November 15, 2016 - Dinner at Bar Marta (Chicago, IL): I was excited the moment Marc threatened to bring this to dinner. At first, the nose seemed a little sketchy, but those somewhat odd odours blew off. Then it unfolded into a very ripe and full-bodied expression of chardonnay. Sure, there was a little bit of brown, but that's expected given the age here. Peachy, ripe, and powerful, just as Corton-Charlie ought to be.
