July 11, 2015 - My Grade: VG-. Dark ruby with brownish rim, pungent nose of stewed black fruit, plums licorice and alcohol. On the palate: intense cassis, plums, licorice and a lot of heat, fine tannins, medium acidity, long finish due to high alcohol content. Superficially impressive, but not much depth or complexity under the flashy surface.
