December 17, 2022 - Tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose emanated toasted coconut, white stone, lemon, lees, and some pear.

In the mouth, this wine was viscous but buffered by huge acidity. This combination of flavors and acidity provided the wine great length. It avoided the excessively leesy quality that some Niellon wines can exhibit.

While this is clearly at its peak, it should hang in there for 5+ more years. Enjoy!

September 26, 2020 - From 2 excellent looking bottles, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose emanated apples, white stone, honeysuckle, citrus, and a background leesy note.

In the mouth, this wine was rich but buffered by strong acidity and dramatic white stone flavors. It was nicely balanced and had incredible length. The Niellon leesy quality was there but was not obtrusive.

One of the bottles was slightly more closed that the other but they were both in stunning condition. While drinking now, bottles in this condition will last another 5-10 years. Impressive!

August 16, 2020 - Tasted blind, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up citrus, apples, toasty oak, white stone, and that leesy edge that Niellon wines often show.

In the mouth, this wine was ripe and rich with great weight, strong acidity, and outstanding length. It really had it all other than the excess of oak.

I tend to find significant bottle variation with Niellon with regard to the intensity of the oak treatment. This bottle was on the oaky side and suffered. However, when on, and not too leesy, these wines can be stunning. Long aeration helped but did not dissipate the oak excess. This bottle was not likely to be getting better.

December 21, 2019 - Delicate floral aromatics. Lemon custard. Rich, weighty textured palate. Starts with a lot of funk, let this air out.

December 31, 2018 - Very dark color, but still some fruit. A bit unbalanced and faded, but still has some elegance to it despite being past its prime. Predominantly butterscotch, it held in the glass neither improving nor showing more fatigue.
