February 16, 2022 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating surviving another week of SIP (sip in place/stay in place) due to covid-19. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. the wine proved to be in sound condition. no formal notes. multiple dark skin fruit flavors in ample abundance. at its best right now.
September 23, 2017 - Absolutely wonderful. A little brightness on the nose. Nice rich fruit that fills the mouth. Good acid. Very nice finish. Drinking very well and probably at its peak.
June 27, 2017 - Full fruit balanced w some RR spice in the mix. Hit its stride after about 30 minutes
May 30, 2017 - A touch fruit forward with sour cherry notes.
May 28, 2017 - Fruit forward - sour cherry and cranberry. Modest body with mild spice and wood.
April 16, 2017 - Nose: Fresh, black cherry aromas with some unique rubber band upon Pnp that dissipated soon after pour with glass air time. Palate: Rich yet elegant due to good balancing acid levels. Flavors of black cherry, tree moss and very subtle spices. Really well made. My one and only bottle and a perfect time to open on Easter Sunday. Went great with ham and potatoes Romanoff.
March 2, 2017 - This came across as fairly simple. Appears to be well made, but not much going on. 88/89
May 10, 2016 - Very average wine. Drank over two nights and never got much better. Some fruit, a bit too much acid and not a lot else
March 20, 2016 - Waiting a few years was good. Opened up after 1 1/2 hours. Went from tight to beautiful. See notes from two years ago.
February 28, 2016 - subtle and very smooth; drank back-to-back with an Eagles Trace 2011 Pinot, which had more spice to it. Neither better nor worse, just different.
