July 21, 2019 - Decanted about 1 hours. Bold red fruit, hints of black licorice, vanilla, spice and the “cabbie” smell we love. In the mouth, the tannins have softened. The fruit is perfect, the finish is velvet and long. Paired this with some big NY Strips and the combo was awesome. This wine is a great window right now. Delicious, wish I had more.

January 26, 2019 - No detailed notes, but this was showing very well right now. Dark fruit, nicely concentrated but still light across the palate. Lengthy finish with very fine and integrated tannins.

October 13, 2018 - Decanted about 1 hour. The wine has a deep ruby color and a rich, intense nose of mint, tobacco, graphite, and floral rose. Deep penetrating flavors are wrapped of black licorice, graphite, and minerals. Soft and silky tannins with vibrant acidity. Long and smooth finish picks Up flavors of cherry and earth. A nice balanced wine.

May 30, 2018 - 100 Cabernet all kiona old block. The hermitage glass I don’t think is helping it. But herbs and savory on the nose. Purplely fruit. Lively. Fresh still. Light on the palate. Almost lean. I wonder if that was purposeful?

(Rasa Vineyards Plus One Cabernet Sauvignon Kiona Vineyard Red Mountain) A Cabernet Sauvignon prototype that explores the grape’s savory side with notes of tomato leaf, herbs, ash, and mineral. The palate is tart and elegant in style, finesse driven with abundant acidity stitching it all together. Those looking for a big, bold Cabernet look elsewhere but for those in search of a beautiful expression of the 2010 vintage in Washington, this one is for you. Aged in French oak (50% new). 13.4% alcohol. 182 cases produced.
