December 20, 2022 - This was a strange wine that I think was a bit past its prime. I cant really rate it fairly because I don't have a reference to a younger bottle. From the beginning the wine didn't come together well and only after an hour of decanting did it finally settle down to a drinkable state. It was ok with the beef stew we had and finally settled on notes of mostly dried cherry, leather, and bit of wood. The finish was short and not memorable. I won't elaborate on it much and it could have been the bottle. I would say drink this now and it probably should have been consumed a few years ago. Cheers, Merry Christmas, drink well, and be healthy.

June 15, 2021 - Perfect drinking date. Very enjoyable, but one dimensional with a short finish.

November 11, 2017 - Wonderful dinner with Doug, Debby and friends... Slow oxed for a bit prior to pouring, served with a great meal of harvest flavors (pork pie, spiced chicken, squash, potatoes).

Medium ruby color. Nose a bit reticent, showing some currant and spice. Palate was light, showing baked cherry, spicecake, some earth notes. Medium weight and finish.

Was food friendly and went well with the dinner. Lacked depth and secondary flavors, still enjoyable

February 25, 2017 - Very nice food wine. Light in body and on the nose. Black pepper, bright cherry and red fruit on palate. Very little oak. Long finish.

January 21, 2017 - This is proof a great Chateauneuf-du-pape from a great vintage can be purchased at Trader Joes. This is very well crafted. Perfect wine for the cooler weather months. Definitely benefits from aeration. 60% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 15% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. 14% alcohol. Paid $14
