April 6, 2024 - White and yellow fruit on the nose, crushed stones, herbs. On the palate intensely mineral, bright, compact. A little more generous on day 2, but overall very precise and linear. Very long. Drink or keep. 92-94

December 16, 2022 - Smooth, mature, well integrated, consistent with previous notes, and paired again with sushi.

August 14, 2022 - German Riesling from 1971 to 2012 (Los Gatos, California): Dull yellow. Pretty unexpressive nose. Lighter weight, elegant feel. Closed, dry, pronounced acidity. Overall, pretty locked up now and hard to read. Could improve if there is enough fruit hidden behind all the structure.

June 18, 2022 - Back to Riesling Country 2.0; 6/17/2022-6/21/2022 (Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Bad Kreuznach, Niederhausen, Oberhausen, Bad Sobernheim , Bockenau): One glass, brief note:
the next mature one, delicate stone fruit, saline, deep, and a battailon mounted artillery advancing and firing, so great gun powder showing here, long+, great bottle on a very hot day!

September 1, 2021 - This is starting to get very interesting, There is a nice lactic intensity to the nose and palate and a bit of pleasant oxidation creeping in. This doesn't have the exotic tropical notes or cracking electric acidity of their sweeter wines...the style is a strange cousin to chablis...a completely different language and I love it.

(Dönnhoff Felsenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs) Light yellow color; very appealing, tart pear, tart apple nose; tasty, tart pear, tart apple, mineral palate with austere level of medium-plus acidity; medium-plus finish
