June 18, 2022 - Back to Riesling Country 2.0; 6/17/2022-6/21/2022 (Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Bad Kreuznach, Niederhausen, Oberhausen, Bad Sobernheim , Bockenau): One glass, brief note:
the next mature one, delicate stone fruit, saline, deep, and a battailon mounted artillery advancing and firing, so great gun powder showing here, long+, great bottle on a very hot day!1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 1, 2021 - This is starting to get very interesting, There is a nice lactic intensity to the nose and palate and a bit of pleasant oxidation creeping in. This doesn't have the exotic tropical notes or cracking electric acidity of their sweeter wines...the style is a strange cousin to chablis...a completely different language and I love it.

December 23, 2020 - High acidity and dry, as expected, but it drinks, from a sweetness perspective, a bit like an Extra-Brut Champagne, drawing out the fruit notes and keeping this from being shrill. This was great, straight out of the bottle, but had a freshness that I wouldn't necessarily expect from an 8 year-old wine. The palate was pretty classic Donnhoff: green apple, lime, salty meyer lemon, white peach through the mid-palate, light tangerine and mint, with wet stone and saline on the medium+ to long finish. The alcohol was listed at 13.5%, but I didn't even get a hint of it. This doesn't hit the heights of the best Donnhoff wines, but it is still really good. This was in a very good spot, so it's fine to drink now, but you probably have a decade or so to make up your mind.

November 11, 2020 - White flowers on the nose. Citrus and gooseberries on the palate rather than tart apple or pear that I might have expected. Excellent acidity. Just a hint of salinity. Persistent finish. Lovely wine, and quite good set against the masoor dhal tadka.

October 30, 2020 - Really good step up from last experience, wet stone minerals, lime, lemon zest with a complex tropical hint, palate feels lights, with lots of acidity, and a real saline salivating long finish
