May 29, 2021 - Tasty aged Bordeaux savory blend of blackberries, cassis and green pepper with a hint of menthol- silky smooth tannins!

    April 12, 2021 - 57% Cabernet Sauvignon 35% Merlot 8% Petit Verdot

Second wine from Chateau Lagrange, Saint Julien

Bricked garnet, opaque, not particular clear, no sediment.

Aromatics screams Grand Cru Bordeaux. Savory, mushroom, sous bois, cassis, bright cherry.

Completely resolved. No trace of tannin, medium body, dry. Elegant red fruits, smoked cigar, graphite, cedar.

Supremely elegant wine from Chateau Lagrange. First vintages made by Mattieu Bordes, Lagrange's current winemaker and general manager, I think. Popped this now or over the next 5 years with ease. Never disappoints! 89.

January 29, 2020 - Solid effort, better with lasagne than it was with lamb - seemed to pair better with the sauce and cheese than with meat

December 17, 2019 - Immediately approachable on opening, classic nose of stone and cherry, nicely balanced, first taste of camembert, medium body, medium acidity, reasonably long finish. Garnet colored, no sediment, in the bottle. Was actually better on its own - paired with oven-roasted lamb revealed sour cherry notes, and the wine felt somehow thinner.

September 8, 2018 - No formal note. Remember thinking that tannins were well integrated already. Was nice. Would buy again at that price as well.
