June 20, 2021 - Well, imagine yourselves; A potpourrit of dried red flowers, red cherries, currant, and just about cleanest streaming water, mingling (for your nose) and chanting together(on your palate)... well this is exactly what this La Fortune '11 is about. I am simply 'fortunate' to experience this sort of purity, of transparence and yet intensity. I am at awe with this quality of wine at such an affordable price range. Cheers and the French all these moments; la vie est belle!

August 7, 2019 - This was a pure delight! We had a nicely roasted chicken and I wanted to pair with a light bodied red and this was just about as right as I could have chosen. As silky and pure as a beautiful high melodic lines from a beautiful Violin singing line and there is something nearly baroque about this so pure and yet elegant it was. Slightly smokey, small red berries(cranberry, red cherry) mingling with a superbly fresh backbone.
The pure and transparency of this wine's texture and uplifting texture was poetic and yet gripping as well. I always prefer wine with food and it remains my both challenge and passion but this was just about as perfect as I could hope for, especially on a cool summer evening. Cheers,

May 20, 2017 - Similar impressions to my previous notes, but showing a bit more evolution now. Bricking pale ruby, slightly rusty tinge. More red fruited on bouquet than in my previous notes, with some preserved and dried fruit elements. Definitely, sous bois, earthy and (greenish) herbs. In the mouth, light bodied and lean. Best consumed with food. Positive acidity. Ripe enough. Soil, strawberries and cherries, with a savoury, dried herbal edge. A nice everyday wine, reflecting the 2011 vintage character.

December 29, 2016 - This wine is developing nicely. On both bouquet and palate, it's gone more earthy, sous bois, iron ore with mainly dark fruit and a bit of funk (meant as a positive). There's a greenish element there (again, not meant negatively) that could reflect the vintage or some whole bunch in the mix (or both) that expresses itself as forest floor or wet underbrush. It's fully ripe but it is below medium weight, with good fruit and acidity. I'll drink my remaining bottles over the next few years.

    October 1, 2016 - [SAQ] 918219 35$
Avec magret canard laquée bière et érable.
Le bouchon est tout imbibé, la robe commence à être tuilée. Vieillisement prématuré peut-être tributaire d'une garde un peu trop chaude.
Arômes de fond de cave et de champignons.
    Fruit fondu. Brin trop acide.
    Dommage.

May 2, 2016 - A bit of a rusty color suggesting it was older than is. The nose was delicate and floral and the fruit rich and delicious. Completely in balance. Lovely wine.

October 2, 2014 - plenty of earth and gutsy berries on the nose, medium bodied, energetic, structured, shows youthful cranberry, cherry, plum skins, stones and minerals in the mouth, this was excellent with roasted beef, will age well

August 27, 2014 - Very nice high-toned Bourgogne with a real purity of fruit. QPR is not there at $40 USD, however. Drinking well now, but will benefit from some additional cellar time.
