May 20, 2023 - Had over 6 hours in a Mondavi Bordeaux glass, with a 2 hour slow O ahead of time from cellar temp.

Such a deep and rich Syrah which has matured nicely.

Aromatically overt, a whole host of smoky black fruits and dripping meat fat waft easily from the glass.

Full bodied and mature, the wine enters nice and round, transitions to some pervasive acid and finishes with a lingering smokiness that points to the drying effect of tannins, even if they are so well resolved as to be barely felt themselves.

Two minutes later, there remains a smoky finish that circles back to some baked blackberries and plums.

What a mouthful - this wine has fulfilled the promise it hinted at 9 years ago. There’s is a real density to palate. Smoky blackberries, guanciale, black pepper, and tobacco create a tremendously deep and pronounced palate of flavor. Still firing on all cylinders at the eighth hour and actually getting bigger.

Man- this wine is in a fantastic place. Enjoy it if you still have some. I wish I did as this bottle was positively singing.

Drink now and over a number of years yet.

January 1, 2019 - A very pretty wine. Medium-bodied, pretty good acidity, well balanced. Lots of black fruits and olive tapenade on the palate.

May 30, 2018 - Nice CA syrah, more acidic than many syrahs, very food-friendly. But, for the money, it wasn't a particularly complex bottle of wine.

February 11, 2018 - Consistent with my note from 6/2017 - paired well with grilled Salmon - this is a food friendly wine given the structure. 91+

November 16, 2017 - No detailed notes... solid, and held up well to finish a couple of days later.
