March 8, 2019 - This is drinking very well, certainly above the scores for me. Subtle aromas of dried herbs and wildflowers. Lots of red fruits, plums and juicy cherries, menthol. Flirting with sweet before the firm tannins kick in for a medium-long finish. Poured and aerate a few glasses from the bottle. Took about an hour for things to get interesting.

February 1, 2019 - Slightly muted nose. Palate showed mostly red fruit, firm tannins, and a long finish. No green notes at all. Typical excellent Mike Smith wine!

December 28, 2018 - Nice dark fruit with cassis and coffee notes

September 28, 2017 - Popped and splash decanted. Drank over 90 minutes.

This did not have the "green streak" like we saw in the 2011 Kenefick a few nights ago. Fruit was quite red. Weight, power of fruit and finish were all on the "relatively" thin side, I'm sure owing to the vintage. But glad to see that the green bell pepper was not in this wine.

Noticeable sediment in the decanter and in the last half glass, but nothing otherwise. Cork looked like it was from a brand new release.

Pretty solid wine for the vintage.

March 11, 2017 - A good wine and drinking well now. Frankly, I don't see this as a long term aging wine. There is powerful fruit with some complexity and sufficient acidity. The tannins are rather soft and uninteresting. The nose is nice, cedar, menthol, earth and darker fruits.
