November 29, 2020 - So, very impressed with this one I had at JRs 6.5 years ago that I bought a bottle....and held it until now. The maturation has definitely set in. Even a bit of tertiary notes here as I feel this one is on the back edge of the curve. A Bordeaux blend of 47 Cab, 28 Merlot, 10 Cab Franc, 8 Petit Verdot and 7 Malbec packs a punch. Full bodied wine with fig, dates, youthful plum notes but without the tart character that frequently exists with those notes. A little bit of dried herb in the middle and a smoked barbeque flavor. Finishes almost a bit gritty with stiff oak tannin-esque notes and almost seems to be a bit astringent but I don't think that's it. I do not expect any further improvement in bottle, but I would definitely give this a 30 minute rest after popping the cork. Time to open these up!

    November 20, 2020 - Still tight.

April 18, 2020 - This is clearly a Bordeaux blend, and in a more traditional style. The palate is middle-weight, Earth, tar, and black to red fruit. This wine would appeal more to Bordeaux drinkers, rather than California wine drinkers.

April 16, 2020 - 14.5% abv. 47CS/28MER/10CF/8PV/7MAL. Dark plum crimson color, black core, still quite dark to rim. Dark cherries, blackberry, clove, vanilla, oak. Still has some grip in mouth on PNP but smooths out. Med finish. Prime drinking window now, should easily go another 5 years.

April 16, 2020 - My third time with this wine and it never seems to get better. Tolerable, but not enjoyable.

(Cenyth Proprietary) Very dark ruby color; aromatic, cedar, coffee, tart black fruit nose; tasty, tight, tart black fruit, cedar, espresso palate; needs 2-3 years; medium-plus finish (47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec; 14.5% alcohol) 90+ points
