February 27, 2021 - Bottle 2/2. Unfortunately the cork crumbled which was a bad sign. The first glass had enough fruit and body but the second went rapidly downhill considering the oxidization. The first glass did drink very well and gave a glimpse of what a more aged version would look like (my first bottle was just a little over the top for my taste). Score withheld. Shame.

February 19, 2021 - Decanted for over an hour then served. Explosive dark fruit aroma upon the first pour. By the time we sat down the nose was more musky and less fruity with some scorched earth. This is a full throttled wine with palate-staining cassis, dark fruit and graphite. Medium plus finish (20 to 30 seconds). Initially some alcoholic heat but soon went more in the background. The wine just hovers on being over the top but manages to remain balanced. My wife really liked it and scored 97. I thought it extremely well made but at times a little difficult to drink and seemed to not have a specific place or character about it - just comes across as a very well made if somewhat generically sculpted Cabernet you can find from one of the top Medoc estates in a hot year (or indeed Napa). As Bordeaux is my reference point this came across a lot like La Mission Haut Brion with smokiness and gravel but punches you even more in the face with its uncompromising fruit and power. Not for everyone but I’m glad I tried a bottle 95-97 probably better in a few years.

August 10, 2020 - Intense dark fruit with cassis, plum and core of graphite and tannins. Opened up even after 3 hour decant and kept getting better in the glass

November 20, 2016 - Spectacular wine with almost perfect balance of dark fruit, graphite, mocha and earth. Iron fist of tannins wrapped in velvet glove with a lingering finish.
