March 28, 2024 - Shrimp Heads Ride Again (PS Steak (Pseudo La Belle Vie, Mpls, MN)): Dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Double decanted for about an hour and then 3 hours or so of slow-O. Same bottle as Chablis28. This was a truly sublime bottle; just so pretty and perfumed - wow! Rose petals, leather, perfume, lacquer, intensely aromatic, game, deep and darker red fruits, dried leaves, white pepper and cinnamon on the rapturous nose. The palate delivers too, black cherry, black raspberry, soft and silky with polished tannins, leather, dried earth and spices, on a long, long finish. Thanks Craig! 97(+?)pts.

March 28, 2024 - Return of the Shrimp Heads to La Belle Vie, now PS Steak in Minneapolis. 6 of us back in our beloved lounge w/ the old LBV lounge menu. CV,KB,LI,BB,JV & MA. My last of 5 glorious btls purchase in 2 trances. Every time I drink a Giacosa I kick my-self for not owning 50 btls! Unmatched balance, purity & elegance. A Master Class in balance, finesse & elegance. Color was semi-translucent garnet red w/ bricking. Stunning rose pedals, raspberry & faint leather notes on the nose also carry over to the weightless palate where you pick up underbrush & other harmonics. Benchmark Barbaresco! Opened 3-1/2 hrs prior to leaving for venue. I decanted for an hour than further slow-oxed btl till leaving for PS/LBV. This was nothing short of stunning! 98+ Might even deserve 100pts! In a perfect place.

March 17, 2024 - Very correct, traditional Barbaresco. Big structure, along with good dark tar laden dark fruit. Full bodied. Very dry finish. Long and complex. Drinking now, will become progressively more tertiary ftom here. Will it ever be charming? I doubt it.

February 10, 2024 - Very hard to get a fix on this wine. Nothing out of place exactly yet not enough focus to pick out distinctive flavors. Seems mature and dense. I'd like to taste it again but I wouldn't search for it.

January 15, 2024 - Purchased as a single bottle one year ago. Cork was in poor condition

(Bruno Giacosa Asili Barbaresco) #1; COLOR-medium with a some copper tone; NOSE-beautiful; and intriguing fig component is just gorgeous; rusty nail; a little sour cherry as well; PALATE-one of the more elegant and powerful wines that I've had; this is one powerful and refined wines; the flavor is immense; rose petal surrounded by a gorgeous acorn nuttiness then swallowed by gorgeous sour cherry meets pure cranberry; impressed by the pure power and athleticism of this wine; it's as if a Heisman Trophy winner was Rhodes Scholar as well; this is PERFECT wine for my palate today in 2010; this has some age, but, make no mistake, this can cellar for 30 years; this is PERFECT premium wine; great balance; one of the best wines we've ever had on WLTV; AG-95; ST-94; WS-93; GV-97
