July 21, 2018 - Amazingly good. Bright red fruit. Cherry. Good depth. Lingering finish. Complex.
December 20, 2015 - Delicious wine. Very fruity, smooth, lingering berry finish.
October 24, 2015 - Just enough green up front transitioning into bright red fruit (strawberry). Delicious! Has enough structure to age for a while as well.
September 24, 2015 - Really smooth and elegant cab franc. lots of fresh fruit, toasted oak. nice balance. not a ton going on but beautifully done. albeit a little manipulated with residual sugar but definitely meant to be the crowd pleaser. enjoyed this bottle. went through a half case in the last few months and each one perfectly consistent.
September 8, 2014 - Beautiful - consistent with prior bottles. Very balanced. Tart red fruit (cherry, raspberry) and beautiful vanilla new wood barreling room. See prior tasting notes. This one needs a good decant though. This is a really pretty beautiful wine.
June 16, 2014 - This is a beautiful cab franc. Incredibly floral off the nose (5 hour decant): raspberry, lavender, licorice, anise, all-spice / baking spice. Taste is baked cherry compote, milk chocolate, new oak barreling room (sweet oak). Finish is milk chocolate, milk caramel, good extraction while being lifted and delicate in a way. Not cloying in any matter. Beautiful elements here, no real greenness and good overall feeling. Missing some on the mid palate but nice finesse.
April 13, 2014 - Tasted this initially at the tasting room at the winery and fell in love with it. Ordered 6 bottles - opened this and gave a 2 hour decant. Nose: Crushed raspberry, apricot, bubble gum, sweet vanilla and new wood barrel/oak. It's herbal but NOT vegetal like you get on Cab franc - the herbs are more bay leaf and lavender. There is a delicate finessed exotic fruit to this wine too - like a baked pineapple and cooked guava, red orchids, soft red plum. It's very pretty. The palate: Soft and delicate a beautiful showcase of what cab franc can be but lacks a touch in the midpalate w/ firm acidity and tannin structure - refined and held back. Lingering notes: glass smelled like bbq, vanilla, almond extract, walnut skin. Bottle kept changing in the glass so need to spend more time w/ other bottles but if you like cab franc, this is beautiful representation of new world style albeit slightly coerced for US consumer but a great wine nontheless.
October 5, 2013 - Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): Pure, ripe red currant and plum aromas are supported by nuances of pipe tobacco, pomegranate and clove on this 100% Cabernet Franc offering. Deep ruby, full-bodied, fresh and with medium fine-grained tannins, it delivers flavors which mirror the nose. The alcohol (listed as 14.5%) is seamless and the mouth texture is velvety. Solid in the middle and long on the finish, this is a fruit-forward Cabernet Franc which avoids the excessive herbaceousness that can sometimes plague this grape. Bravo to Cosentino! Drink now-2023.
September 2, 2013 - Solid red berries and a little dark chocolate. Medium to full body with a long finish.
