June 18, 2023 - Nose: tropical fruits, starfruits, grape seeds, white flowers, toasted sesame, white chocolate
Notes: Drank from a magnum, this wine is in excellent condition with a nice fill. Excellent nose and fantastic palate, still really energetic and could last for years more. With plenty of elegance and balance this wine is really delicious. Aged Burgundy whites are a treasure nowadays due to the premox issue and storage conditions that probably killed off at least 70% of the great wines out there. It's a pity that the sheer volume of great Burgundy whites are so limited and well conditioned bottles are becoming a rarity now. It is however true that for this particular wine the nose probably performed better than the palate but overall it is still a fabulous wine. Whatever one might feel about this wine, this is history already and we can only enjoy the wines from his sons going forward.

May 18, 2015 - Nose of potpourri spice & matchsticks. Palate is pineapple cake topped with lemon zest. There's a fleshy mouthfeel to this wine but has enough minerality to make it so clean on the finish. Really different. Really special.

November 13, 2013 - Great comparison between this and the Leflaive. Both are great but different.

August 2, 2013 - Such a dense citrus core on this wine. The depth of fruit just goes on and on. The expansiveness of the palate isn't quite there yet as it's still young and fighting to get out, but the texture is so soft like so many other great 2001's. The acid has integrated.
