March 18, 2023 - A very different Carlisle but I really liked it. Definitely savory, peppery and some sweetness. Went perfect with Venison Loin in the cast iron pan. I have one more in the cellar that I will be opening soon.
March 7, 2022 - As noted, more savory than the Zins. Very food friendly.
December 20, 2020 - really good, so many different traits, maybe some Bordeaux nuances and no cab/merlot at all
November 29, 2020 - Outstanding. Beautiful fruit and flowery nose. Worked much better in a Pinot glass. In a Syrah glass got more of the savory that Mike describes in his tasting notes. Not sure what more this wine will yield with more age. I'll set aside one for aging and drink the rest now. Sorry he didn't made another vintage of this.
May 3, 2020 - A fun wine that introduces attributes of pinot and syrah (as described earlier) with gentle tannins and a cherry nose. Low/Medium complexity and satisfying with cream-based pasta dinner.
May 2, 2020 - Stands nicely on its own, but one can see why it's typically blended-- for acidity and structure, some purple fruited flavors. Enjoyable, and should drink well another 5 years I think.
January 4, 2020 - Interesting medium body. Good balance and finish. No notes written but will look for another bottle.
November 1, 2019 - Surprisingly good and lighter than anticipated. Beautiful fragrant fruity nose. Tastes a bit like a Malbec mixed with some Pinot noir. Very short aftertaste. Nice mouthfeel too. Seems to be drinking really nicely now. There is no complexity to this wine. Serve judiciously!
October 31, 2019 - definitely at or past peak, though still solid. Drink up
March 14, 2019 - dark purple, rich, lush, blackberries, blueberries, moderate tannins but good structure, long finish
