July 11, 2021 - Last bottle of the 6 I bought almost 15 years ago. Opened up really nicely over the course of about 30 minutes. Definitely towards the end of its life, but still has enough fruit left to be very enjoyable.
January 5, 2020 - Fra Lars Barkler
February 17, 2018 - Drinking very nicely with some sweetness left. Lots of freshness and dried fruit.
Still, this vintage is not as good as the better ones, e.g. 1997..
January 30, 2015 - Still very smoth and rich but its on the way down..
March 9, 2014 - Really drinking great now, wine probably at it's peak. I've held this wine for along time and was pleased. It was saved for the end of the evening (after multiple bottles) and was like a dessert wine for me.
November 12, 2009 - (at Cloelis with the Sextet) Attractive nose, not the typical of sweeter Amarone; dried fruits, bitter-sweet. Medium-full-bodied, exotic, easygoing mouth-feel, well-integrated tannins; spicy finish, long and flavorful.
January 1, 2008 - Jammy black fruit on the nose, very raisony character with slightly velvety tannins. well-balanced and oh so quaffable. Nice lengthy finish. Couldn't believe how quickly we downed this bottle. Gotta get some more.
November 24, 2007 - Took to Pizzeria Mozza. Should have decanted, but still excellent. Some chocolate on the nose in addition to my prior notes.
July 14, 2007 - Took to La Terza in West Hollywood. No formal notes, but this bottle was excellent again. It is simply head and shoulders above any other Amarone I have had. I'm going to see if I can track down some more. If you can find it, I strongly recommend picking it up.
March 8, 2007 - When first opened there was a lot of blackberry, blueberry, even a hint of sea salt. But as it opened up the fruit receeded and a bit of an earthy scent came in. Spectacular.
